4/13/20261 min read

The SafeSwim consortium officially got to work. On 9 February 2026, the four partner organisations came together for the project's online kick-off meeting, setting a shared vision and a strong coordination framework for the months ahead.
All partners were represented:
Ivana Haramina — PK Zagreb (Coordinator), Croatia
Mario Škegro — DSR SuperKid, Croatia
Sara Martinšek — ŠD Partizan Sevnica, Slovenia
Boğaçhan Alkan — LIDOSK, Turkey
What we agreed
The meeting laid the foundations for the whole project. Together, the partners:
Reviewed the project timeline and confirmed each partner's roles and responsibilities
Selected the certification platform for our future Child Safeguarding Officers — the CPD-accredited VitalSkills / HSQE Safeguarding Children Level 1 course
Planned the first safeguarding workshop, including dates, venue, and participant recruitment
Agreed on communication and reporting procedures, including shared tools for day-to-day coordination across the three countries
A strong start
With clear objectives and a motivated team, the kick-off meeting marked the real beginning of SafeSwim's journey. The next milestone: bringing coaches and sports professionals together for our first hands-on safeguarding training.
